About Puzzled
Puzzled is a place to play puzzles with other people in real time — the same board, the same moment, everyone racing. It is free, it works in a browser, and you can start without an account.
How it works
A room is a series of puzzles and the people playing them. You can open one and share the code, join a public room from the room browser, or hit quick play and be seated in whichever room is liveliest. Rooms are temporary — they run their series and end — which is what keeps the lobby full of games actually in progress rather than a graveyard of abandoned ones.
You do not have to compete. Games that make sense alone have a solo mode that is the same board with nobody else on it, and most rooms can be watched rather than joined — useful for learning a game before you play it, or for following a friend.
What you can play
One game is playable today, with a written guide that teaches the rules from the same code the game runs on — so a guide cannot quietly describe a rule the game no longer has:
13 more are on the way. The catalogue on the home page shows what is coming and lets you say which you want next.
What we care about
Puzzle sites tend to be loud. This one is built the other way: no interstitial between you and the board, no animation congratulating itself every few seconds, and a play area that never resizes while you are using it — the board is measured once against the space available and then left alone, because a grid that shifts under your hand mid-solve is the fastest way to lose someone.
The same idea runs through the rest: controls say why they are unavailable instead of doing nothing, dead ends suggest the repair rather than blaming you, and nothing claims to know something it cannot.
Who makes it
Puzzled is published by an independent developer. It does not currently show advertising; if that changes, the privacy policy will explain the data choices involved before any ad is shown.
Questions, bugs and suggestions are all welcome on the contact page.
